Heavy duty plastic "crystal" trays that hold dip in the middle and veggies or crackers in the surrounding compartments.

  • Good quality plastic silverware in a huge range of solid colors. There are 49 per bag. I would recommend the plastic silverware, but I would not recommend paper tablecloths. It's also possible to get nice heavy duty plastic silverware in clear.
  • It's also possible to get paper plates in the same solid colors, but I think that the plain white heavy-duty paper plates from Costco -- the large ones that don't have the bucked up rim around the edge -- would be just as nice and they are sturdier. I can get them here.
  • Plastic for covering tables comes in rolls that are 40 inches wide by 100 feet long. Duct-taped down, this would be OK. I personally still like cloth better! But this is not bad and might be useful for, say, the serving tables.
  • Large size packages of plastic cups. I would go with the 16 ounce ones, and I would get lots. They also have large size packages of the solid color paper napkins too, which is more cost effective than the smaller packages in the earlier picture.
  • These 12-gallon tubs are for filling with ice and beer or soda cans. They're $9.99 apiece. They are quite handy for serving up beer etc. By the way, beer in cans sure has less potential for broken glass than beer in bottles!
  • Large, inexpensive plastic bowls suitable for chips and dip etc. All the solid colors. They are translucent and kinda purty. As you can see on the top shelf, there are plastic "crystal" bowls that are real purty but cost more.
  • Plastic platters, big ones for serving. 16" across. All the same colors. I call all this stuff "semi-disposable" since, while it's intended for use at one event, it's sturdy enough that I tend to use it more than once. Silly me, since it takes up a lot of space!

  • And since it's been taking up space for too long here at home, I will donate my "semi-disposable" party ware. Two large clear bowls, two platters, three lazy susan syle platters, and one large white bowl.
  • Cotton-polyester blend fabric on sale for $2.42 per yard. 44 inches wide by who knows how many yards long. Depending on how wide the tables are, could be an inexpensive table cloth solution. Who cares if a table cloth has hems, after all! Would work for 36" wide tables. Just a tiny idea. No need to take seriously if you think it's silly.
  • I bought one of these sets, which include two food trays, a water tray, and two sterno cans to heat the water. It's a way to keep brats and burgers warm. It cost $12 so it didn't break the bank!
  • I also bought extra pans for it. There are lots of sizes of these heavy aluminum pans available, and I could get more if there are other things that should stay hot. Maybe a couple pans to serve buns out of?
